NORTH CENTRAL U. S. AFFILIATE FINALS - Winona, MN October 31 - November 1 & 2, 2008

Congratulations PARDS SADDLE SERIES saddle winners Sally Broten and Jeff Kasten. Sally was also the NCAF Non Pro Champion while Jeff out scored a strong field to win the NCAF Open and Intermediate Open Championship. Kasten and Paddys Irish Cody also won the Novice Horse Open title making them the most decorated duo of the show! Good luck to our four special representatives in the Performance Horse Rookie of the Year contest lead by Mary Neurberger and Primetime Mif. Christine Olmanson, Liz Wagman and Ronald Anderson all tied to fill the remaining qualifying spots. Allison Oseid of IL and her stud, Smokin Dually, took home both the Novice Horse Non Pro and the Intermediate Non Pro affiliate titles while Donald Larsen and Gunner Slide won both the Limited Open and Rookie Professional championships. We had many class winners and tons of qualifying riders to represent the NCRHA (yes, we were the winning team) in the North American Affiliate Championships at the NRHA Futurity show so, if you go down, don't forget to look up affiliate classes and cheer on our riders!
MONEY, BUCKLES, PRIZES and MORE
The NRHA Youth Team tournament was as competitive as ever and was garnished with lots of extras for all riders to enjoy, thanks to coordinators, Tom & Terry Lauth. We love our youth and we hope they loved their special championship day at the affiliate finals! Jamie Dickey of MN, Abbie Weyeneth of IA and Angelee Hale of MN made up the winning team, each earning $600 in NRHA scholarship money, an NRHA trophy buckle, splint boots, gift certificates and blue ribboned medallions... but wait that's not all... all riders received a large grooming tote full of goodies AND an embroidered saddle bag! The second place team was Ashlee Kate Hale, Ali Leonhart and Shauna Denault who received $350 scholarships. Third in the contest was Hannah Bengston, Lane Rowe, and Lexi Daggett who earned $250 scholarships. If that's not enough there were also the affiliate finals qualifiers: champion Alexis Daggett followed by Jamie Dickey, Ali Leonhart, and Helen Lauth in the 14-18. 13 & Under qualifiers were: Champion Ashlee Kate Hale and second place finisher Abbie Weyeneth. Congratulations on a great year of quality competition by a quality group of young people!

And a big Yahoo for Addision Welman who won her first ever Short Stirrups outing with "Midge" presented by NRHA Rep. Kristina
SPOOKFEST FUTURITY
How about those three year olds!?! The "last chance" Spookfest futurity saw some snuffy scores as folks scrapped for the top of the heap. Jesse Assmussen riding Juicetta, by Smart Like Juice, won the Non Pro while Brian Welman rode Fancy Chex Music, by Boogachex, owned by Castle Valley Ranch to win the Open. Thank you to all our entries for coming out to spin with us one more time!

THE
END?
The Spookfest marks the end of the NCRHA Win-A-Saddle Circuit which means championship saddle announcements will be made soon! We all had a lot of good fun and we thank everyone for filling up the truck and coming out this year.
What's next? Its time to turn our attention to the SIRE & DAM PROGRAM! Stay in touch with current sire bids and general announcements by checking out the website often... www.ncrha.com is always there with the information you need!
