COSTUMES - ITS TIME FOR SPOOKFEST:
The NCRHA Spookfest and North
Central Regional Affiliate Finals will begin on October 31. [Check in 10:00AM -
October 29, Wed.] The show will feature such highlights as the Spookfest
Futurity, NRHA Youth Team Tournament and the PARD'S Saddle Series Non Pro and
Open Championships. Bring your pom-poms to cheer during the final NCRHA Saddle Circuit
show of the season and experience all the excitement this
multi-championship show can and will provide! Fill a candy bowl to
treat the kids or face the tricks after the annual costume contest on Saturday
night!! The Affiliate Finals means the best reiners of the
following associations will go head to head for a ticket to the U.S.
Affiliate Championships in Oklahoma City. A very special welcome to our

PLUS: Don't Forget the election
of our NRHA regional representative will also take place at this important

your bids for stallions OCTOBER - JANUARY 2nd at noon (Central). Current bids will be posted at www.ncrha.com under
the Sire and Dam heading. This program funds our Futurity added money and fuels
our promise of quality shows in the future. This is all done
through the great support of our members and friends but don't forget this is
also a great deal too! Resulting foals are awarded an entry into the NCRHA
Futurity and Sire owners get an entry for a three year old of a enrolled/sold
stallion. Lets start shopping!!!

Thanks to the
entire UW-RF staff and Horseman's Association for a great day of showing. The
newly renovated rodeo arena was an outstanding reining venue. Just look at some
of the our class winners riding below and you can see how great it was to
get outside and play in the BIG sand box!

CONGRATULATES HELEN LAUTH AS ONE OF THE RHSF SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
The Reining Horse
Sports Foundation (RHSF) is committed to providing leadership and scholarship
opportunities to enable youth to excel in their future careers and competition.
In 2008, the RHSF offered five $1,000 Academic and Need-based scholarships to
NRHA members. NCRHA Champion, Helen Lauth was selected as one of this
year's recipients!

NEW ANNUAL AWARD - 2008 Kevin Daniels Youth
Memorial Award: ATTENTION
MEMBERS: The Kevin Daniels Youth Memorial Award will be awarded for 2008 -
2015 show year (last award will be at the 2016 banquet for 2015 show season)
and at the 2017 awards banquet the trophy will be retired to Kevin's family. Application/nominating
form will have four categories for evaluation: 1. Leadership-
Youth group to define leadership qualities with adult leaders by 6/1/08. 2. NCRHyA-Involvement
and participation in the NCRHyA activities. 3. Equine
Activities Involvement- NCRHA shows, NRHA shows, breed shows, 4-H, other
association competitions, trail riding, clinics attendance or presentation,
etc. 4. Other
Personal Development Activities- School Achievement, extra curricular
activities, community involvement. The youth
group can develop a point scale system for each of the four categories or
decide for the Review Committee to rank applicants by category and the best overall
ranking will receive the award. The Review
Committee will consist of: 1. Two NCRHyA Adult advisors 2. One NCRHyA board member who is not the awards chairs. 3. The NCRHyA awards chairperson will be the final determiner if
the other committee members evaluations results in a tie. The Kevin
Daniels Youth Memorial Award will be a traveling trophy with each recipients
name added to the base of the 'whistle Stop'. The award will be presented to
the new recipients at the NCRHA annual awards banquet. The NCRHyA group will define by 6/1/08 the criteria for each
category and the Nomination Form will be complied by Joyce Borchardt and NCRHyA youth advisors and present to the Board of
Directors at the July meeting for review and final draft determination. The
application/nomination form will be made available at the Futurity show for
